Dr. Abdel Wahab is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law at Cairo University, Egypt. He is a Founding Partner of Zulficar & Partners where he serves as the head of the Firm’s Arbitration and Project Finance/PPP Groups. Dr. Abdel Wahab is an approved Tutor and vice-chairman of the Cairo branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Dr. Mohamed S. E. Abdel Wahab (MCIArb.), Licence en Droit -LLB (CAI), LL.M (CAI), CIArb Dip. International Commercial Arbitration (Balliol College, Oxford University), European Law Course (King’s College, London University) MPhil (Manchester University), Ph.D (Manchester University). Dr. Abdel Wahab also holds a number of visiting posts in Egypt, the UK, and the USA. He is currently a Fellow of the National Centre for Technology and Dispute Resolution at the University of Massachusetts USA. He is the Faculty Coordinator for the Indiana University LLM Program in Business and Comparative Law in Egypt.
Dr. Abdel Wahab is a Counselor for International Legal Affairs and International Contracts to the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA)-(Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Egypt). Dr. Abdel Wahab regularly represents clients in major ad-hoc and institutional arbitral proceedings for he served as legal counsel in many international commercial and investment arbitration disputes subject to Egyptian and foreign laws such as English, French, Emirati, Saudi and Swiss Laws and across different fields such as tourism and hospitality, construction contracts, technology transfer, petrochemicals, oil and gas, information technology and telecommunication, international sale of goods, banking transactions and infrastructure projects. He regularly sits as a sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator, and chairman of arbitral tribunals in both ad-hoc and institutional proceedings and was also involved in proceedings administered according to the rules of CRCICA, UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, American Arbitration Association and Singapore Arbitration Centre.
Dr. Abdel Wahab is also a CEDR accredited mediator, member of the LCIA Arab Users Council. He is also member of the UN Expert Group on Online Dispute Resolution, and member of the Board of Editors of the International Journal of Arab Arbitration. Dr. Abdel Wahab holds over forty five prizes for academic achievement, and has published numerous articles in learned international journals and is a regular speaker in national and international conferences on International Commercial Arbitration, Online Dispute Resolution, Private International Law, ADR and E-commerce, Project Finance and PPPs, and IT Law.
