Chris Peterson is a researcher at the MIT Center for Civic Media, a graduate student in the Comparative Media Studies program, and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Coalition Against Censorship. He is an alumnus of the Legal Studies Department at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he conducted his senior thesis on Facebook privacy and contextual integrity for Ethan Katsh and Alan Gaitenby. For his master’s thesis he is studying user generated censorship: how people subvert social media to suppress speech.
Previously, he directed digital strategy and communications for MITAdmissions and was a research assistant at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard.
